Lives of the Mayfair Witches is a trilogy of gothic horror novels by the late American novelist Anne Rice, centering on a family of witches whose fortunes were guided for generations by a spirit named Lasher. The first of the three novels, The Witching Hour, was released in 1990, followed by Lasher in 1993 and Taltos in 1994, with all three novels debuting at No. 2 on The New York Times Best Seller list.
